Ways for overseas clients to retain Lawdern Partners
Overseas clients may authorize Lawdern Partners for PRC proceedings via four valid channels:
1. Notarization + Consular Authentication: Sign Power of Attorney (POA) before a local notary public, followed by authentication at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the client’s country (applicable to Thailand, Malaysia, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan).
2. Apostille: For clients in Hague Convention member states (Singapore), apostille is accepted instead of consular authentication.
3. Remote judicial witnessing: With court approval, clients sign the POA via live video in the presence of a judge, waiving notarization and authentication.
4. In-Person signing within China: Clients sign the POA in China, witnessed by a PRC notary public or judge.
